Personality:

Rufi is a being of  hyperactive energy and manic  enthusiasm concentrated in a small furry body.

Childish  and cheerful,  Rufi is extremely friendly and will always try to befriend  anyone he meets,  whether they want his friendship or not. He will rarely think before acting, and has a problem telling the difference between fantasy and reality, as he usually uses all his knowledge learned from hours of T.V for real life situations (expect a lot of Pop culture references from this guy. )

He can get easily overexcited , annoying and can even be harmful with his antics, but he never acts with ill intentions  though he often fails to realize if what he is doing causes more harm than good.

Secretly he has memory and learning abilities and artistic skills beyond the average, that he either wastes on useless information, or just doesn´t show in public at all.

History:

Rufus is the only child of an young average couple. His father a serious and hard-working Stoutland , and his mother loving yet strict Smeargle. His dad had a political job, and due to his usual business trips he was rarely at home, so the smeargle spent most of his time with his mother. Rufi’s mother was… Overprotective toward his son, always with an eye on him, and not allowing the kid to go outside the house without her supervision. The only place Rufi was allowed to go was to the house’s backyard, a “safe environment” his mother designed for him, with nothing but a sandbox, a tree, and some toys.

Born with a hyperactive imagination and curious mind, Rufi used to live his own imaginary adventures at his backyard, always imagining new stories and ideas for his adventures. When he was not playing around the house, he was painting with his mother. Since an early age his mother introduced him in the art of painting, an activity she performed as a hobby, with the hope to stimulate his son’s mind and turn him into a future artist genius.

Rufus however, had another hobby he kept as a secret, he loved to watch T.V, from cartoons to documentaries, reality shows to horror movies. His mother used to forbid him to watch anything but educational television, and only one hour at day. The reason for this was Rufi used to sneak at night to watch his dear big shiny, square friend until the sunset. Due to his limited knowledge of the real word, Rufi could hardly differentiate between reality and the fiction he saw in the T.V, and usually believed everything he saw on T.V. In the end, Rufi came to the conclusion than acting like in the T.V was a pretty normal thing.

Eventually Rufi started to wonder about the world outside of his “bubble”. He had already explored all places of his house, he knew there was more out there. He used to stare at things on the other side of fence of his house. Wondering how it how big the world actually was… How many people lived in there, how many new adventures were waiting for him there. So one day while his mother was busy talking to a neighbor, Rufi decided to climb the tree in his backyard and hop to the other side of the fences… As soon as he put one foot on the ground, he started to feel a sensation he had never felt before… He was outside, freer than ever, in a world so big he couldn’t see the end of it. It was waiting…No!... Calling him to explore it…

He wandered around his neighborhood beholding all the wonders of the outside world. Flowers that were different to the ones his mother planted in the garden, trees that were bigger than the one in his house, gigantic white walls, that just looked like the little canvases his mother used to buy him… And people… Other children like him, hanging around, playing, talking, laughing… The world was so full of wonders, and the smeargle could only feel his heart fill with joy and excitement as more and more new things appeared in front of his eyes… The outside world was just mesmerizing…

His mother managed to find her son four hours after he escaped. The woman brought him home and told Rufi to never do it again. What the little smeargle experienced that day changed him forever… As soon as he tasted real freedom, the boy became addicted to it.

As much as he loved his mother, Rufi’s wanderlust made him find any way possible to escape from his house everyday to visit the outside world, get in new adventures (and misadventures too) and painting whenever he felt it was good to paint, not really caring about getting in trouble with other adults or his own mother.

It was normal to see Rufi performing his usual imagination-powered antics around the neighborhood, along with his usual “art attacks” against the many buildings of the area, and frequently hanging around with his neighbor, a kid who Rufi found more than amusing due to his vast knowledge of “completely legit”(for Rufi, at least) theories of conspiracy and his particular round shape.

As the years passed, his mother stopped struggling with her son and finally resigned to only tell him to be careful and come back before moonrise, and not get into too much trouble.

During his time at Nacrene City’s school, Rufi taught his teachers and principal two things about him. He was a bright boy… And a fulltime annoyance. It was easy for the smeargle to get in trouble due to his hyperactive and explosive personality, and having to constantly visit the principal’s office, just to have an interesting chatter with the middle-aged man, and accidentally sprinkle red paint all over his office. After years of Rufi’s shenanigans, the principal finally reached his limit, he had to get rid of the smeargle for the sake of his sanity, or die trying.

Due to Rufus’ good grades and the fact most of his offense were misdemeanors and unintentional, it was impossible for the man to expell the kid from the school. So after thinking for months in a way to make the little menace go away, the principal decided to take advantage of Rufi’s good grades and recommend the smeargle for the Armonia Pokemon academy. An academy for pokemons with potential…That was located in an island far away from his beloved school!!

During a meeting with Rufus’ parents, the principal told the couple about sending their child to the institute, where he would be able to unlock his true potential and become a successful adult one day. At first the couple was iffy about the proposal, but came to the conclusion that sending their son to the Armonia institute was the best for him.

Hoping the best for their son _{and all the people he will meet in the institute} they decided to send Rufus to the famous Armonia institute.

Rufi exploded in excitement when he heard the news, he was ready to go in a quest for new experience, new places, and new friends…

His heart was racing, his artist hands, anxious, and his thirst for adventure, insatiable!~

Summary characteristic: Impetous and silly (But you still love him)

Hobbies: He adores painting ( Well, more like "making a mess everything he tries to"). It is likely his favorite thing to do, it may be more of an obsession than a hobby, though.

He enjoys eating junk food. Soda and microwave taquitos are his favorite ones.

He does love to watch T.V

He loves to watch cheesy horror, Kung fu and fantasy movies... _{Most of his crazy ideas come from there.}

Extras: Rufi is usually overenthusiastic, but his mood can change completely almost instantly, and he can jump from being calm, to act completely nuts.

Rufi has a short attention span, and is easily distracted.

He is addicted to sugar, and caffeine, and any other thing that keeps him awake and hyperactive.

Due to his obsession with sugar and caffeine, he rarely sleeps more than 4 hours a day.

He paints wherever he feels he should paint, papers, walls, ceilings and even people’s faces. He usually makes a mess wherever he goes, lucky the paint on his tail can easily be washed.

Rufi is in fact a pretty smart boy, with a lot of potential (This could be the only reason he could be accepted in Armonia). Sadly due to his quirkiness and unstable personality, he rarely uses his intellect for anything useful.
